Head of School

The Skylark Federation would like to appoint a Head of School for Iford and Kingston CE Primary, ideally to start September 2025.  The Skylark Federation is made up of four schools, Barcombe CE, Hamsey, Iford and Kingston CE and Plumpton Primary Schools.  We offer many opportunities for collaborative work, to inspire innovative practice and professional development.  Are you ready for the challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for an aspirational leader to play a key role, with excellent career prospects. Applications are invited from experienced teachers with the skills and desire to lead others and raise standards in teaching and learning.

We are seeking that special person who will support us in continuing to provide an excellent standard of education whilst driving school improvement forward.  You will be an outstanding teaching and learning practitioner with the skills to translate this into higher standards and excellent attainment.  The role will have a small teaching responsibility of approximately one day a week.  This will not be class teacher responsibility.

Working with our Executive Head Teacher, you will be responsible for translating a clearly articulated vision into action.  You will help lead and manage the school day-to-day and work as part of a team in the strategic direction of the school.
